Bhagat Singh (1907–1931) was an Indian revolutionary and writer who played a prominent role in the independence movement. He wrote for Punjabi and Urdu newspapers and developed an interest in Marxist thought and political philosophy. His writings continue to be studied for their discussions of revolution, religion, reason and social change.
