The Tailor of Giripul

The novel follows Janak, a quiet village tailor who longs for his wife's affection. His ordinary life changes dramatically after a mysterious death occurs outside his shop. As villagers, strangers and eccentric characters become suspects, the peaceful community is transformed by intrigue and suspicion.

Bulbul Sharma is an Indian writer and painter. She has written several books, including My Sainted Aunts, The Perfect Woman, Anger of Aubergines, Banana Flower Dreams and Shaya Tales. She has also written books for children and has conducted art and storytelling workshops for children with special needs.

Janak is a mild-mannered tailor living in the Himalayan village of Giripul. His simple life revolves around his tailoring shop and his difficult relationship with his wife. Everything changes when a dead body appears outside his shop. Soon, the entire village becomes suspicious, with characters ranging from the headman's mysterious third wife to a fisherman-turned-sleuth and a teashop owner with a former contract killer as his cook. Janak must navigate the growing mystery as the villagers try to discover who is responsible for the killing.
