The book examines Tibetan paper currency introduced during the early twentieth century. It covers Tam and Srang denominations and explores the visual elements found on Tibetan banknotes, including religious and national symbols. The work combines numismatic research with observations on Tibetan material culture.
The book documents Tibetan paper money through descriptions of its denominations, designs and historical context. It discusses notes such as the 5, 10, 15, 25 and 50 Tam denominations and various Srang notes, while providing supporting references and bibliography for further study.
