• M. K. Ranjitsinh is one of India's foremost wildlife conservationists. He belongs to the royal family of Wankaner and joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1961. During his career, he played an important role in wildlife protection and was a key architect of India's Wildlife (Protection) Act. He served twice as Director of Wildlife Preservation and also held the position of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
