Panther

The novel follows Prabu, a young boy who earns a cricket scholarship to an international school. As he adjusts to his new surroundings, he experiences friendship, first love, competition, and disturbing secrets from the past.

Chhimi Tenduf-La is a half-Tibetan, half-English writer who has lived in Sri Lanka for many years. He has worked in education, written plays and fiction, and is known for his stories set against Sri Lankan life.

Prabu's life changes when he receives a cricket scholarship to an elite international school. His friendship with the charismatic Indika introduces him to a new world of privilege and excitement, but betrayal, examinations, cricket matches, first love, and a sinister schoolmaster complicate his journey. The novel explores the difficult transition from childhood to adulthood against the backdrop of war-torn Sri Lanka.
