Simhāsana Dvātriṃśikā: Thirty-Two Tales of the Throne of Vikramaditya

The Simhasana Dvatrimsika is an ancient Sanskrit story collection whose original author is unknown. The surviving text is associated with the thirteenth century and exists in several recensions. The stories are framed around Vikramaditya's magical throne, supported by thirty-two statuettes of nymphs, each of whom recounts a tale celebrating or testing the qualities of the legendary king.
